We recently completed a full house clearance in Ashington, Northumberland, for a family who needed to clear their late mother’s home. The property had been occupied for decades, and the family wanted to ensure that nothing went to waste. They were keen to see items either sold or donated rather than discarded.
Customer Requirements
“Our mother’s house in Ashington needs a complete clearance before we put it up for sale. There are quite a lot of older pieces of furniture, some collectibles, and a garage filled with tools and household items. We don’t have the time to sort through everything ourselves, so we need a professional clearance service to handle it properly.”
The House Clearance in Ashington
Our team arrived early in the morning to begin the clearance. As with all our house clearances, we worked methodically, ensuring that valuable or reusable items were identified for sale or donation.
Living Areas & Bedrooms
The living room contained a three-piece vintage sofa set, a teak display cabinet, and a selection of porcelain ornaments. The display cabinet and ornaments were set aside for resale, while the sofa set—still in good condition—was donated to a local charity.
The bedrooms included a solid pine wardrobe, a mid-century dressing table, and several bedside cabinets. The wardrobe and dressing table were added to our resale inventory, while the cabinets were donated.
Dining Room & Kitchen
The dining room had an extendable oak table with four chairs, a selection of crystal glassware, and silver-plated cutlery. These items were all suitable for resale.
The kitchen contained various appliances, including a nearly new microwave and a kettle, both of which were donated. There was also an assortment of cookware, crockery, and utensils, many of which were given to a local charity.
Garage & Shed
The garage was packed with old tools, gardening equipment, and miscellaneous household items. Among the finds were a collection of woodworking tools, a cast iron bench, and a vintage petrol can. These were added to our list for resale. A set of garden tools, including a lawnmower, was donated to a community gardening project.
By the afternoon, the house was fully cleared, leaving it ready for the next steps in the family’s plans.
