Free House Clearance In Battle Hill & Charity Donations

We were recently contacted by a client in Battle Hill, North Tyneside, who needed a full house clearance following the passing of their father. The property, a three-bedroom semi-detached house, had been occupied for over 40 years and contained a mix of furniture, collectibles, and general household items. The family wanted to ensure that any valuables were identified and that as many items as possible were either sold or donated rather than sent to landfill.

Client’s Requirements

  • Full clearance of the house, including the attic and garage

  • Identification and fair appraisal of valuable items

  • Responsible disposal and recycling of unsellable items

  • Donation of furniture and household goods to charity

  • Completion of the clearance within one day

The Clearance Process

Bedrooms & Living Areas

The bedrooms contained solid wood wardrobes, a dressing table, and a set of vintage chairs. The wardrobes were in excellent condition and were donated to a local charity shop, while the dressing table and chairs were purchased due to their craftsmanship and age.

In the living room, we discovered a collection of porcelain figurines, an antique wall clock, and a mid-century teak sideboard. The porcelain pieces were highly collectible, and the client agreed to sell them. The sideboard was in good condition and was also purchased.

While clearing a cupboard, we found a small box containing silver jewelry, including rings, a bracelet, and a pocket watch. After assessing their value, the family decided to keep some sentimental pieces and sell the rest.

Kitchen & Attic

The kitchen had an array of vintage kitchenware, including a 1960s tea set, glassware, and a cast iron cooking pot. The tea set and glassware were donated, while the cast iron pot was sold due to its desirability among collectors.

The attic contained a mix of old books, suitcases, and childhood memorabilia. Among the books was a first edition novel, which the family had not realized was valuable. They were pleased to learn about its worth and decided to sell it.

Garage & Garden Shed

The garage contained a variety of old tools, car accessories, and a vintage metal petrol sign. The tools were donated, while the petrol sign was a rare find and was purchased.

The garden shed had a mix of gardening equipment and an old wooden ladder. The ladder was in surprisingly good condition and was purchased, while the rest of the tools were donated.
