We recently completed a full house clearance in Berwick-upon-Tweed for a client who needed their late mother’s home emptied before it was sold. The house had been lived in for over 40 years and contained a mix of antique, vintage, and modern household items. The client wanted to ensure that anything reusable was donated to charity while valuable pieces were resold.
Customer Requirements
“My mother’s house in Berwick-upon-Tweed needs to be fully cleared before we put it on the market. It’s a three-bedroom home filled with furniture, ornaments, and personal belongings. I’d like to keep anything sentimental, and I’d appreciate it if anything of value could be sold. I also want to make sure that useful items go to charity rather than being thrown away.”
The House Clearance in Berwick-upon-Tweed
Our team arrived early in the morning and began by walking through the property with the client to identify any sentimental or important items they wished to keep. Once those were set aside, we started the clearance.
Living Room & Bedrooms
The living room contained a large glass-fronted display cabinet filled with decorative porcelain and glassware. Some of the porcelain pieces were antique and marked for resale, while the more modern items were donated. The room also had a mahogany coffee table and a leather armchair, both of which were in excellent condition and suitable for resale.
The bedrooms contained a mix of furniture, including solid wood wardrobes, bedside tables, and a dressing table with a mirror. The client kept a few personal items, but most of the furniture was donated to a local charity. One of the wardrobes was an antique oak piece, which we marked for resale.
Kitchen & Dining Room
The kitchen had a full set of vintage crockery, cutlery, and cookware. The crockery set was collectible, so we set it aside for sale, while the cutlery and cookware were boxed up and donated. The dining room had a large oak dining table with matching chairs, which we also marked for resale.
Garage & Attic
The garage contained an assortment of tools, old gardening equipment, and a collection of fishing gear. The tools were still in good condition and were donated to a local men’s shed charity, while the fishing gear was valuable and set aside for resale.
The attic was packed with old suitcases, trunks, and boxes. Among the finds were a collection of vintage postcards and war memorabilia, which the client was delighted to recover. Other attic contents included an old Singer sewing machine and a box of vinyl records, both of which we marked for resale.
By early afternoon, the property was fully cleared, and the client was relieved to see the house emptied and ready for the next stage.
