Free House Clearance In Camperdown & Charity Donations

We were recently instructed to carry out a full house clearance in Camperdown after a client inherited their late grandfather’s terraced property. The house had been left untouched for a number of years and was packed with a mix of vintage tools, furniture, and everyday household goods. The family was based outside the area and needed the entire clearance completed quickly, with a focus on preserving anything of value and donating what could be reused.

Client’s Requirements

  • Full clearance of a two-bedroom house, including attic, garage, and garden shed

  • Identification and purchase of valuable items

  • Donation of good-quality furniture, tools, and household goods

  • Environmentally responsible disposal of waste

  • Clearance to be completed within a strict one-day deadline

The Clearance Process

Living Room & Bedrooms

The living room featured a retro 1970s wall unit, a record cabinet, and a well-cared-for vintage armchair. Hidden inside the cabinet was a collection of vinyl LPs, including some rare pressings of Northern Soul records, which we purchased. The wall unit and record cabinet were donated.

In the bedrooms, we discovered a mid-century dressing table, a box of costume jewellery, and several vintage men’s coats and suits. The family chose to keep some personal items, while the rest of the clothing and furniture was donated. The jewellery, which included a few silver brooches, was appraised and purchased.

Kitchen & Attic

The kitchen was filled with classic enamel cookware, old tins, and a 1960s electric mixer in working order. We purchased the mixer and a few collectible kitchen tins, and donated all other usable kitchenware.

The attic contained a variety of stored items, including boxes of books, war-era newspapers, and a collection of vintage postcards from across Europe. These were sorted carefully, and after consultation with the family, we purchased the postcard collection while the books were donated.

Garage & Garden Shed

The garage was a treasure trove of old tools, oil cans, and a large, fully intact workbench. Many of the tools were vintage hand tools in good condition, which we purchased for resale. The shed also contained a 1950s metal watering can, a cast iron plant stand, and a set of weathered terracotta pots—all of which were donated to a local community garden project.

Client Feedback

The client was grateful that we were able to complete the clearance on schedule and impressed by our attention to detail when identifying and valuing the hidden vintage items. They were especially pleased that so much of the property’s contents went to good causes rather than landfill. The home was left completely empty, swept through, and ready for the next stage of probate and sale.
