We were contacted by a client in Choppington, Northumberland, who needed a full clearance of their late mother’s semi-detached home. The property had been in the family for decades, and the client wanted to ensure that sentimental and valuable items were identified before the clearance began. They also requested that any usable furniture and household goods be donated to charity rather than disposed of unnecessarily.

The House Clearance Process
Living Areas & Bedrooms
The living room featured a collection of mid-century furniture, including a G-Plan coffee table and a set of Danish-style armchairs. Among the bookshelves, we found several vintage first editions, which the client had been unaware of. The bedrooms contained well-preserved Victorian pine wardrobes, a collection of handmade quilts, and an assortment of costume jewelry, some of which had significant vintage appeal.
Kitchen & Dining Area
In the kitchen, we discovered a selection of vintage Pyrex dishes, a boxed set of silver-plated cutlery, and a Mason’s Ironstone dinner set. The dining room housed a classic Ercol sideboard filled with glassware, ceramics, and a set of crystal decanters. We carefully assessed these items and provided the client with a valuation for anything of interest.
Garage & Garden Shed Discoveries
The garage contained a variety of old tools, including a well-preserved Stanley plane set and a cast iron bench vice. In the garden shed, we found a collection of terracotta plant pots, a vintage watering can, and a sturdy wooden garden bench that, with some refurbishment, could be reused.

The house was left completely cleared, allowing them to move forward with their next steps stress-free.
