The property had been occupied for decades, and the family wanted to ensure that anything of value was identified, while other belongings were either donated or disposed of responsibly. The Clearance Process
Living Room & Bedrooms
The living room contained a mid-century drinks cabinet, a collection of 1950s glassware, and a set of vintage vinyl records, which we appraised and purchased. The master bedroom had an Edwardian dressing table and a collection of silver jewelry that we also acquired.
The second bedroom, once used as a study, contained a roll-top desk, which was in good condition and suitable for resale. There was also a selection of classic literature books, some of which were valuable first editions. After discussing with the client, they opted to sell the most valuable books and donate the rest.
Loft & Kitchen
The loft held several old trunks, one of which contained a collection of wartime letters and postcards. The client was interested in keeping these for sentimental reasons, but we helped them organize and safely store the documents.
The kitchen had an assortment of copper pans and vintage ceramic plates, which we purchased. Other functional kitchenware, such as cutlery, small appliances, and dinner sets, were donated to a local charity.
Garage & Outdoor Area
The garage contained a selection of woodworking tools, a 1960s fishing tackle box, and an old Raleigh bicycle, all of which we purchased. There was also a collection of gardening equipment, which was donated to a local community garden project.
