Free House Clearance In Earlston & Charity Donations

We recently carried out a free house clearance in Earlston, Scottish Borders, for a client who needed their late father’s home emptied before selling the property. The house had been in the family for decades and contained a mix of antique and modern items, as well as general household goods. The client wanted to ensure that as much as possible was either sold or donated rather than going to waste.

Customer Requirements

“My father’s house in Earlston needs to be completely cleared. There’s a lot of furniture, books, and household items that have built up over the years. I’d like a professional service to handle everything, and it’s important to me that anything useful is donated to charity rather than thrown away.”

The House Clearance in Earlston

Our team arrived early in the morning and conducted a walkthrough of the property with the client. The house was filled with a wide variety of items, including furniture, collectibles, and everyday household goods.

We started in the sitting room, where we carefully sorted through a large collection of antique and vintage books, a mahogany display cabinet, and a set of decorative porcelain plates. A Victorian sideboard and a pair of carved wooden armchairs were selected as valuable pieces for resale.

The bedrooms contained traditional wooden furniture, including a walnut wardrobe, an Art Deco dressing table, and an assortment of bedside cabinets. Clothing in good condition was packed for donation, while worn-out textiles were sent for recycling.

In the dining room, we found a beautiful oak dining table with six chairs, a set of cut crystal glassware, and silver-plated serving trays. The dining set was added to the list of resale items, while everyday glassware and kitchen items were packed for donation.

The attic contained an assortment of old suitcases, a box of vintage postcards, and a collection of framed landscape paintings. Valuable items were set aside for resale, while reusable goods were prepared for charity.

Finally, the garage housed various tools, garden equipment, and an old wooden workbench. Usable tools were donated to a local charity, while any broken or unusable items were disposed of responsibly.

By the end of the afternoon, the property was fully cleared and left tidy for the client.
