Free House Clearance In Eyemouth & Charity Donations

We recently completed a free house clearance in Eyemouth, Scottish Borders, for a client who needed their late father’s home emptied before putting it on the market. Below, we explain their situation and how we managed the clearance efficiently.

Customer Requirements

“My father’s house in Eyemouth needs to be fully cleared before we can sell it. He was an avid collector of maritime memorabilia, and there are a lot of books, furniture, and personal belongings throughout the house. I’ve already taken the sentimental items I want to keep, but everything else needs to be removed. I’d prefer usable items to go to charity rather than being thrown away.”

The House Clearance in Eyemouth

We arrived at the property in the morning and conducted a final walkthrough with the client. They had already taken sentimental items, so we proceeded with sorting and packing everything for resale, donation, or responsible disposal.

The living room contained a mixture of modern and antique furniture, along with a significant collection of maritime memorabilia. We carefully packed delicate items such as antique sea charts and navigational instruments, ensuring their safe transport.

The kitchen contained high-quality cookware and small appliances, most of which were in excellent condition and suitable for donation. Any perishable food was responsibly disposed of.

The bedrooms had wardrobes filled with clothing, much of which was barely worn. These were boxed up for charity, while antique furniture was set aside for resale.

The garage and attic took extra time due to the number of stored items. We discovered a collection of vintage tools, an old ship’s wheel, and various nautical-themed décor pieces. The usable tools were donated, while the rarer collectibles were put aside for sale. Any broken or unsalvageable items were responsibly recycled.

By mid-afternoon, the property was fully cleared, swept, and left tidy, ready for sale.

Client Review

“Irv and his team did an incredible job clearing my father’s home. They handled everything with care and efficiency, making sure valuable and sentimental items were identified before starting. I was especially pleased that so many items went to charity rather than being wasted. The whole process was smooth and stress-free—I highly recommend their services.”
