Free House Clearance In Lauder & Charity Donations

We recently completed a free house clearance in Lauder, Scottish Borders, for a family who needed their late father’s home emptied before finalizing the sale. The house contained a mix of antique furniture, everyday household goods, and sentimental collectibles. The family had taken the personal items they wished to keep but needed a professional service to clear the rest efficiently.

Customer Requirements

“My father’s house in Lauder needs a full clearance before it is sold. He had a mix of older furniture, books, and various household items. We’ve already taken what is important to us, but we’d like the rest cleared professionally. If anything can be donated, that would be ideal, as we’d rather see useful items go to a good cause.”

The House Clearance in Lauder

Our team arrived in the morning and carried out a walkthrough with the client to confirm the clearance plan. The property was in good condition but had a large number of items to sort through, including furniture, books, and vintage collectibles.

We started with the living room, carefully packing away a collection of vintage hardcover books, porcelain figurines, and framed landscape paintings. A beautifully carved oak sideboard was identified as a valuable piece for resale, along with a Victorian armchair that was in excellent condition.

The bedrooms contained solid wood wardrobes, a dressing table with an antique mirror, and a selection of decorative china. Clothing, bedding, and soft furnishings that were in good condition were packed for donation.

In the kitchen, we sorted through a range of items, including a complete Denby dinner set, a set of copper pans, and various small appliances. The dinner set and copper pans were suitable for resale, while general kitchenware such as mugs, plates, and utensils were set aside for donation.

The garage and attic had been used for storage and contained a mix of tools, old records, and miscellaneous household items. The tools were donated to a local community project, and a collection of 1970s vinyl records was placed in the resale category.

By early afternoon, the property was fully cleared, and we made sure it was left clean and ready for its new owners.
