Free House Clearance In Morpeth & Charity Donations

We recently carried out a full house clearance in Morpeth, Northumberland, for a family who had inherited a property after their elderly relative passed away. They needed the house emptied quickly to prepare it for sale but wanted to ensure that anything valuable was resold and that usable modern items went to charity.

Customer Requirements

“We inherited my uncle’s house in Morpeth and need it fully cleared before we can put it on the market. He lived there for decades, so there’s a mix of old and modern furniture, ornaments, and personal belongings. We’d like to make sure anything useful goes to charity rather than being wasted, and we’d appreciate any advice on items that might be valuable.”

The House Clearance in Morpeth

Our team arrived in the morning and began with a walkthrough of the house alongside the family. We helped them identify personal items they wished to keep before starting the clearance.

Living Areas & Bedrooms

The living room contained a large oak bookcase filled with vintage books, a Victorian-style sofa set, and a grandfather clock. The bookcase and books were valuable, so we marked them for resale, while the sofa set was donated to a local charity shop. The grandfather clock was carefully assessed, and we confirmed it was an antique worth selling.

The bedrooms contained traditional wooden wardrobes, a writing desk, and an assortment of framed prints. The family kept a few sentimental pieces, while we arranged for the wardrobes and desk to be sold. The framed prints were donated.

Kitchen & Dining Room

The kitchen had a collection of china plates, silver-plated cutlery, and a pine dining table with chairs. The table was in good condition and suitable for resale, while the cutlery and china were carefully sorted—some pieces were valuable, while others were donated. Small kitchen appliances, including a kettle, toaster, and microwave, were boxed up and taken to charity.

Garage & Attic

The garage contained a mix of tools, a vintage bicycle, and various storage boxes. The bicycle was still in great condition and was marked for resale, while the tools were donated to a community project.

The attic held several old trunks, one of which contained military medals, photographs, and letters. The family was delighted to recover these, as they had historical and sentimental significance. Other attic finds included a collection of vinyl records and a sewing machine, both of which were ideal for resale.

By mid-afternoon, the entire house was cleared, cleaned, and ready for the estate agent’s next steps.
