Free House Clearance In North Shields & Charity Donations

A family in North Shields contacted us to clear their late mother’s three-bedroom terraced house. They had taken sentimental items but needed professional help to remove the remaining contents, including furniture, bric-a-brac, and personal belongings. They also wanted us to assess any valuable antiques and ensure that as much as possible was donated to charity rather than going to waste.

Client’s Requirements

  • Full clearance of a three-bedroom house, including the attic and outdoor shed

  • Assessment and purchase of antiques and collectibles

  • Donation of usable items to charity

  • Completion in one day to meet a deadline for the property sale

The Clearance Process

Living Room & Dining Area

The living room had a collection of antique silver-plated serving dishes and an Art Deco clock, both of which we purchased. A 1960s teak sideboard was in excellent condition, and after consultation with the client, we arranged for its sale. We also packed up books, ornaments, and a set of vintage china tea cups, which were later donated to a local charity shop.

In the dining area, we found a collection of cut crystal glassware and a vintage oak dining table, which we appraised and purchased. The remaining tableware, including plates and silverware, was boxed up for donation.

Bedrooms & Attic

The bedrooms contained an assortment of mid-century furniture, vintage handbags, and a large collection of linens. Some pieces, such as a Victorian dressing table and a set of antique hand-stitched quilts, were identified as valuable and purchased. The attic contained several boxes of old books and military memorabilia, which we also bought.

Kitchen, Shed & Garage

The kitchen contained a range of kitchenware, small appliances, and an assortment of enamel pots. Usable items were donated, while older, worn-out pieces were recycled.

In the outdoor shed, we uncovered a collection of vintage gardening tools, including an antique copper watering can and an old wooden wheelbarrow, both of which we purchased. The remaining garden equipment was either donated or disposed of responsibly.
