Free House Clearance In South Broomhill & Charity Donations

We were recently contacted by a client in South Broomhill who needed a full clearance of their late aunt’s home. The property had been unoccupied for a few months, and the family wanted it emptied to prepare for sale. The house contained a mix of furniture, personal belongings, and antiques that had accumulated over the years.

Client’s Request

“We want the house cleared entirely, including the garage and shed. If you come across anything valuable, we’d appreciate a heads-up, but we mostly need it handled efficiently so we can move forward with selling the property.”

The House Clearance Process

Main Living Areas

The living room featured a collection of antique furniture, including a mahogany display cabinet filled with porcelain and glassware. After assessing the contents, we found several 19th-century Staffordshire figurines and a set of Victorian cranberry glass, both of which had value. The family opted to sell these items rather than donate them.

Bedrooms & Loft

The bedrooms contained a mix of vintage and modern furniture, along with boxes of clothing, linens, and personal documents. In the loft, we discovered a box of old postcards and letters dating back to the early 1900s. These were returned to the family, who were delighted to keep them as part of their family history.

Garage & Shed

The garage was packed with tools, old bicycles, and garden ornaments. Among the finds was a cast-iron garden planter, which was sold to a local antiques dealer. The shed contained a vintage Singer sewing machine in excellent condition, which we advised could fetch a good price.
