We recently completed a house clearance in Stakeford for a family who needed to empty their late father’s home before selling it. The property had been lived in for decades and contained a mixture of antique, vintage, and modern furniture, along with household goods and personal belongings. The family wanted everything cleared quickly but hoped to see valuable items sold and reusable goods donated to charity.
Customer Requirements
“My father’s house in Stakeford needs a full clearance before we put it on the market. He had accumulated a lot over the years, including antique furniture, books, and tools in the shed. We’d like the valuable pieces to be sold and anything still usable to be donated to charity rather than thrown away. We need the house completely emptied and left tidy.”
The House Clearance in Stakeford
Our team arrived early and met with the client to go through the property. They had already identified a few sentimental items to keep, such as family photographs and important documents. Once those were set aside, we started the clearance process, working methodically through each room.
Living Room & Bedrooms
The living room contained a large oak display cabinet filled with porcelain figurines, books, and glassware. The cabinet itself was valuable and set aside for resale, while many of the books and decorative items were suitable for charity donation.
The bedrooms contained a Victorian dressing table, an Art Deco wardrobe, and various bedside cabinets. The dressing table was in good condition and ideal for resale. The wardrobe and bedside cabinets, though modern, were still in great shape and were donated to a local charity shop.
Kitchen & Dining Area
The kitchen had an assortment of vintage crockery, including a 1960s bone china tea set, cutlery, and cookware. Some of the older, more valuable pieces were selected for sale, while the rest were donated to a local community organization. The dining room featured a solid pine table with four matching chairs, which were still in excellent condition and ideal for charity donation.
Garage & Shed
The garage and shed contained a variety of tools, gardening equipment, and an old cast iron fireplace surround. Many of the hand tools were still usable and were donated to a local workshop. The fireplace surround was a valuable antique and set aside for resale. Additionally, we found several vintage oil lamps and an old wooden trunk, both of which were in high demand among collectors.
By the afternoon, the house was fully cleared, and we ensured it was left in a clean and tidy state, ready for the next steps in the sale process.
