We recently carried out a free house clearance in Tweedbank, Scottish Borders, for a client who needed their late mother’s home emptied before handing it over to the new owners. The property had been sold, and the client required a full clearance with minimal hassle, ensuring that any reusable items were either sold or donated to charity.
Customer Requirements
“My mother’s house in Tweedbank needs a full clearance before the sale is finalized. She had a mix of antique furniture, modern household goods, and general possessions collected over the years. I’ve taken what’s sentimental to me, but the rest needs to be removed. I’d like to know that useful items will be donated instead of just thrown away.”
The House Clearance in Tweedbank
Our team arrived early in the morning and started with a walkthrough of the property alongside the client to confirm what needed to be removed. Since the house had been well-kept, most of the furniture and household goods were still in excellent condition, making it an ideal clearance for resale and charity donations.
We began in the living room, where we carefully packed up decorative items, books, and glassware. A mid-century teak display cabinet was set aside for resale, along with a collection of vintage crystal glassware.
The bedrooms contained a mix of vintage and modern furniture. A Victorian chest of drawers, a dressing table with an ornate mirror, and a carved wooden bed frame were selected for sale, while bedding, curtains, and general clothing were packed for donation.
In the kitchen, we sorted through appliances, utensils, and cookware. A high-quality stainless steel cookware set was suitable for resale, while everyday crockery, cutlery, and small appliances such as a toaster and slow cooker were donated to a local charity.
The garage and attic revealed a variety of stored items, including old tools, a collection of vinyl records, and some antique brass ornaments. The tools were donated to a local workshop, while the records and ornaments were placed in the resale category.
By mid-afternoon, the house was completely cleared, and we left it in a clean and tidy state, ready for the new owners.
