Free House Clearance In Tynemouth & Charity Donations

A client in Tynemouth reached out to us for a full house clearance after inheriting a four-bedroom Victorian property from their late uncle. The house had been in the family for decades and was filled with a mix of antique furniture, vintage collectibles, and general household items. The client needed the property emptied quickly so they could begin renovation work before putting it on the market.

Client’s Requirements

  • Complete clearance of a four-bedroom house, including the basement and loft

  • Identification and purchase of valuable antiques

  • Donation of usable items to charity

  • Responsible disposal of non-salvageable goods

  • Work completed within a single day

The Clearance Process

Ground Floor & Basement

The ground floor featured a large sitting room, a study, and a kitchen. In the sitting room, we discovered a Victorian mahogany bookcase filled with old hardback books, some of which were first editions. After assessing their value, we purchased a selection of rare books while donating the rest to a local charity.

The study contained an antique writing desk and a collection of 19th-century maps, which we also purchased. The basement had been used for storage, and among the old furniture and household items, we uncovered a collection of vintage brewing equipment, which we bought. The remaining furniture and kitchenware were either donated or responsibly recycled.

Bedrooms & Loft

The bedrooms were filled with antique wardrobes, dressers, and an assortment of vintage clothing. One of the wardrobes contained a collection of Edwardian lace dresses, which we appraised and purchased. We also found a set of Art Deco bedside cabinets and a Victorian washstand, which we added to our acquisitions.

The loft housed old suitcases, trunks, and various decorative items. Among them, we found a selection of vintage travel posters from the 1930s, which we purchased. The rest of the attic’s contents, including linens and general bric-a-brac, were sorted for donation.
