Free House Clearance In West Linton & Charity Donations

We recently carried out a free house clearance in West Linton, Scottish Borders, for a client who needed their late grandmother’s home emptied before it could be put on the market. The house contained a mix of antique and modern furniture, decorative items, and everyday household goods. The family had removed sentimental belongings and required a professional team to clear the remaining contents efficiently.

Customer Requirements

“My grandmother’s house in West Linton needs to be completely cleared. She had lived there for decades, and while we’ve taken the personal items we want to keep, there’s still a lot left behind. I’d like to make sure that as much as possible is reused or donated rather than thrown away.”

The House Clearance in West Linton

Our team arrived at the property early in the morning and began by walking through the house with the client to confirm which items needed to be removed. The property was well-maintained but contained a large number of items that had accumulated over the years.

We started in the living room, carefully sorting through a collection of antique books, porcelain vases, and framed needlework pieces. A Victorian mahogany display cabinet and a pair of Edwardian armchairs were identified as valuable pieces for resale.

The bedrooms contained a mix of traditional wooden furniture, including a four-poster bed, a vintage dressing table, and several ornate bedside cabinets. Clothing, bedding, and decorative cushions in good condition were packed for donation.

In the kitchen, we sorted through various items, including a full set of Wedgwood china, an assortment of copper cookware, and small appliances such as a bread maker and blender. The china and cookware were selected for resale, while everyday plates, utensils, and glassware were boxed up for charity.

The attic contained an assortment of old trunks, a box of vintage postcards, and a collection of silver-plated cutlery. These were carefully sorted, with valuable items set aside for sale and reusable items donated.

By mid-afternoon, the property was fully cleared, and we left it tidy and ready for its next occupants.
