Good Afternoon, my friend has lived in her home in xxxxx for over ten years, she sadly passed away last month, I am now tasked with having her home cleared.
For as long as she lived in her home, she hoarded, everything from old newspapers to books.
Its a small two bedroom bungalow, though its small it will be a big job to undertake, the only rooms accessible is the entryway leading to a lounge that is accessible, the rest of the rooms are full with clutter and the hallways leading to them are also blocked due to clutter.

I know that the kitchen appliances have been there for as long as she lived there, so they will all need to go too.
Would it be possible to collect the keys from a nearby solicitor as I do not live near the property?

We arranged with Alice to collect the keys from the solicitor a few streets away from the bungalow.
A team of five specialists arrived to clear the property at 9am, it took two days to completely clear.
The team started by clearing the hallway, the hallway had been piled with stacks of newspapers, books and empty boxes, these all went to recycling, the carpet throughout the hallways were also removed, they were falling apart underneath the rubbish causing dust clouds as the team were clearing.
Once the hallway was clear, the team were able to get a better understanding of how cluttered and hoarded the rest of the bungalow actually was, the two bedrooms were completely filled, the kitchen had piles of old food waste in the corners and the bench tops were completely covered, the bath in the bathroom had been filled with bags of rubbish, and the lounge floor could not be seen, rubbish and cluttered amassed everywhere.
The team split up to clear the bedrooms first (these were the worst two rooms).
Whilst clearing the bedrooms, we managed to fill 38 boxes of clothing, books, ornaments, bedding, towels etc to be donated to charity, the rest of the rubbish, furniture, carpets etc had to be recycled.
The team finished off the first day by clearing the bathroom, they sent photographs to Alice to show the process so far.
On the second day, the team arrived at 9am again, they began by clearing the kitchen, nothing could be salvaged for charity as everything was covered in grease and grime, the kitchen gave off a terrible stench, mountains of food waste piled over the floors and benches, the fridge had been turned off for quite some time too.
Once the kitchen was clear, the team moved onto the lounge, all rubbish was bagged and removed first, the sofa, two bookcase, a television, and eight boxes of ornaments were able to be donated to charity, the rest of the furniture and carpets had to be recycled.
The team took photographs of the now empty bungalow, sent them over to Alice and returned the keys to the solicitor.
